This photo of model Arizona Muse is part of Slimane's Fashion Diary. Slimane originally started out as a fashion designer, but ventured into photography, capturing models backstage at shows as well as working for editorials. Again, this photo is in black and white, although some of the photos from this particular shoot were kept in colour, which shows off the stunning gold colours of the location. Although the Rock Diary focuses more on close portraiture, but the Fashion Diary ventures out into full-body shots like the one above. The posing of the model demands attention as the wide stance displays authority without appearing overly masculine. Although the background is more extravagant than a simple plain backdrop, this makes the overall image interesting and the model and the background compliment each other well. It would be easy for the model to fade into the background but the stance makes her appear more dynamic and three dimensional, even in a 2D image.
